UPDATE!

Hello everyone! It's been a whileeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

I'm now 7 weeks in back at work after 7 weeks furlough!! If I'm honest I did quite enjoy the 7 weeks off. When the weather was good anyway!!! I was pretty surprised to get the call asking me to come back to work, but ready to get stuck in nonetheless.

So I turned up a few weeks ago and was met with around 70 new cars and 30 used cars, all needing photos and videos. Safe to say I had a busy few weeks! However I was soon able to catch up, at the start I was doing more than 20 cars a day! I always like to be busy, so I was happy! It's more work than I'm used to as I'm doing all the cars completely solo now. Plus, the used cars are now too my responsibility. I've definitely found that the used cars are a little more tricky, there are sometimes imperfections to deal with/work around. Now the backlog of cars are all done, I'm now focussing on the new deliveries and part exchanges that come in as and when. Some days its very hectic still! For the last 4 weeks we have solely relied on online sales, so my part has been more crucial than ever. I'm really pleased with the work I have done over this period and have received great positive feedback from the managers here as well as the company directors! I was informed that our ads had been specially recognised by the AutoTrader team. It's great to feel as though I am making a difference and this has really been a good chance for me to up our digital presence and for me to prove what I can do! With our photos and videos being considered quite highly right now, we're all keen to remain on top! I will continue to work hard as I always do and ensure all of my imagery is to a very high standard.

Earlier in the week, I went over to the Swansway Fleet department. They have had a new delivery in the form of a Turn table! It's a very high tech and innovative piece of kit. The plan is to use it for our, and the two other local Crewe dealerships, photographs and videos. Two representatives from the Turntable company came and completed a demonstration for myself, two other digital marketing apprentices and two Marketing Executives from head office. It was really interesting to see and a great innovative concept. The turntable gathers up to four different videos and around 100 stills from each session! Each session can be completed in around 5 minutes; so it definitely works fast! It is all electronically operated, there isn't much photography from me involved. At the moment, the turntable is here on a month trial, so if it is deemed to be worth keeping, I presume that that will become our main location for photos and videos. I am open to this, however, I do like my advertising process at the moment. I like taking the photos outside in daylight, as I feel they represent the cars truthfully and clearly. I also like the background I use as it has clear Audi branding, and I feel this really adds to the photos and makes them look more professional and consistent throughout all my ads. This is another reason that I like the photos as they are, as they are all done in the exact same location, and I think consistency with the ads is key to maintaining a strong company presence. So, we will see what happens with the turntable - I will keep you updated!

In other news, I am really pleased to have finally submitted my whole portfolio! I now have just a week before my EPA! I managed to get booked in in less than 3 weeks which is a great result! I had largely completed all of my work as the EPA was initially scheduled for mid April. So it was just a case of going over all of my reports, tidying everything up and making sure it was all ready for submission. I was really relieved once I finally had everything finished and handed in. There's something reassuring about knowing it's out of my hands now - well for just a week anyway! I am nervous for the EPA, but it has been a long time coming and it'll be great to finally have it finished. Not long til I'm a qualified Digital Marketer! Wish me lots of luck.........

Thanks for reading,

Sophie  :)
