Afternoon everybody,
The focus this week has been the used car videos. A never ending battle! This week I have managed to get about 25 done which sounds great and we are fairly up to date with them now. Now I just cross my fingers over the weekend that we don't get a huge used stock delivery.......
It is really difficult to keep on top of as the majority of cars not videoed now are not here on site. This week I have trawled our stock lists to try to locate where every car is. I have endeavoured to video all that I can, however if the cars are not physically here or prepped, it is simply impossible to get a video of them. I am really hopeful that after all the work I've put into this all week, our percentages will be considerably better than they have been. It is never going to be completely done (due to the nature of the business), but of course the more adverts with videos the better, and I am totally committed to keeping on top of it and monitoring new deliveries of used cars and ensuring they are done within an appropriate time frame.
Other than videos, I have been posting to social media and working with head office to get them some content for their posts. They were wanting to publicise people's 'work anniversaries', for people who started in October, over the years, and also celebrating 'World Smile Day' - as simple as the name suggests! Quite a few staff are really not keen on the idea of having their photo taken and shared online so I find it best now to just move on in these situations. Luckily there are a few willing volunteers who are now my go to's whenever I need some nice images!
I was asked by John, the sales manager, to share a particular car on social media, a rare S8. I find a good way to perk interest for things like this, on instagram, is to do a few stories of sneak peek close ups of the car, highlighting its best bits, before posting the full images later that day. This car went down really well on Instagram and on Facebook, where Facebook business tools tell me that the listing has had 26 click throughs from my post. This is a really good rate so I was pleased with that outcome :)
The latest idea is that we will start to create 'vlogs' of new, exciting cars that come in - perhaps facelifted models, completely new models, or something just 'Wow!'. The plan is to have the Product Genius Luke in the frame, demonstrating the vehicle and being in the shot. He will talk and I will film... he is still much more knowledgeable about Audi's than I probably will ever be! I have been considering the best option for filming these videos and have decided that we will most likely purchase a Gimbal to use, probably with my iPhone. We use a small digital camera for the used car walkaround videos but I find these turn out quite bumpy and generally not too great really. One of the other DMA's use a gimbal so I am thinking of borrowing hers to give it a try and see how I get on.
Then I have the option to decide for myself :)
Hopefully the vlogs will be beginning next week! Until then, it's Friday !!!
Sophie :)
Let us now how the gimbal goes! Maybe we could attached one to Teddy and do a day at the academy in the eyes of the office dog! :-)
