Another training week down.. the second to last one ever which sounds very strange to say! The time has flown by really fast. But now I am looking forward to completing the apprenticeship and seeing what happens next.

It was another challenging week, I've come to realise that when coding and me are used in the same sentence you can almost guarantee it's going to equal challenging ! We were studying for the HTML5 MTA exam. Unfortunately I didn't pass the exam on Friday which I was quite disappointed about. However it is a really challenging topic so I guess I can't be too surprised. I mainly struggled with the different code formats and recognising these, which turned out to be a really large portion of the exam. I have scheduled my re-sit so hopefully it will be second time lucky. I am going to try and get lots of revision done and am going to make the most of my downtime at work. Luckily passing this exam is not crucial to me passing the apprenticeship however it would be a really great qualification to have on my CV so I am really hopeful I manage to do it. I have surprisingly quite enjoyed the content - it's been really interesting to learn how something we use so frequently is done and all the bits in it that we take for granted/ don't even recognise are being done 24/7 behind the scenes. There are definitely some very clever people in the world doing all this coding business !!

The apprenticeship deadline is creeping round pretty fast now, and I still have a lot of work to do before January. I have a couple of reports to be getting on with. It's sort of difficult knuckling down and concentrating when I'm at work as for stuff like this I prefer just working by myself with no distractions. However time is starting to run out now so it's imperative for me to get on with it!

On a lighter note... I was very happy to win this months Swansway photo competition! :D I'm so pleased that I managed to win one :) So to all at Escalla thank you very much! It is nice to be recognised. My winning photo:

Today is looking to be a quiet day with no videos or photos to be doing so I think I will endeavour to get on with my Escalla work.

Bye for now :)

  1. Don't worry Soph you passed the exam in the end and Amanda says you are either creative or a coder! I would much rather be creative! Look at all of the amazing things you can do without the code! The good thing is, now you have widened your knowledge and skills you will understand why you have to do things in a certain way.
