Hey everyone.
After a lovely holiday and last week spent at Escalla, I am just settling back into being back at the dealership.
Last week at Escalla was a really valuable and interesting week, we covered many topics, to complete the Business Principles topic of our course. This involved looking further into branding and advertising, ie the importance of slogans and jingles, looking further into the different laws and acts we must abide by, as well as further discussing our citizenship project, which is now taking shape!
We have had more communication with the marketing team at head office and are now going to be partaking in weekly marketing catch ups, so we will be better informed on what is happening in the company and any important marketing updates. I think this is a great idea and look forward to being more involved with the whole Swansway Marketing side of things.
As I mentioned, our charity cycle event idea is coming along nicely and we are all now working off of a Trello board to be able to share our ideas in one place and ensure that everyone is on the same page. After discussions with the head office team we decided that logistically it will be more practical to have two events at two different sites - we should also raise a bit more money this way too, which is the ultimate aim here. We are now looking into investigating how we can gain sponsors, what we could have going on, reaching out to local businesses for raffle prizes, etc. There is a lot to think about and I do think we are undertaking quite a big project, but so far we are working well as a team and I am hopeful that it will all come together and be a success. My head of business, John, is happy to have the event here, which I am really pleased about! We believe it is a prime location as we have all of Swansway Head office on our doorstep, as well as a bit more potential passing trade than some of the other dealerships. The day of the event is fast approaching so it is really time to get everything
together and make a great day out of it.
I will update later in the week on what my first week back has entailed. Below I have attached a link to my blog post that went live a couple of weeks ago, all about the Audi RS 25th year anniversary. I'm really glad I got to do something like this as it allowed me to make more use of my written skills, and I think it will be a great experience to put on my CV.
