Hello all!
Last week was spent at Escalla, looking at the first set of Digital Marketing Principles that we are going to be covering over the next couple of sessions.
The week was packed full with new information as usual!! We looked at the specialist areas and characteristics of digital marketing and social media platforms as well as the business environment and business issues related to digital marketing and customer needs.
We began a report which ties together everything we have been learning, exploring different marketing platforms and how successful each they are, SEO, and much more. We looked at different courses and completed a certificate in Email Marketing.
On Friday we began to look at potential ideas for the citizenship project we have to complete this November, After selecting a leader and a deputy, we set about bouncing some ideas back and forth for what event we could do to raise some money for a charity of our choice. We quite quickly chose Macmillan Cancer Support as our charity - sadly it's one that's close to almost everyone's hearts. We decided to come up with one big event that we could all work together on, and then potentially do smaller things within our dealerships individually to add to pour fundraising endeavours.
We toyed with a few ideas; a charity car wash by ourselves - which we decided may be tricky with insurance, a charity walk - (not very exciting), a bake sale (bit boring..) and the list goes on! Eventually we came up with a really good idea of charity cycle. The original concept was to cycle enough electric power to charge the Audi E-tron. We were all really keen on this idea and agreed that a cycle run would be exciting and attainable. As we are completing the event with apprentices from across the group (different dealerships), we agreed that to base it on the E-Tron wasn't the best idea. The next idea was to start at our most Northern Dealership which is Carlisle, and work our way down the country via each dealership, and ask people to guess to which dealership we would get, for the cost of £1. The whole group liked the sound of this concept so we decided to all work on this idea and run with it.
We did consider physically completing the cycle out on the roads. We thought it would be quite exciting and fun for us to do and for our colleagues and families to get behind us on. However the logistics were difficult to work out and we concluded that we would each not be cycling an equal distance - from Carlisle to Preston is a lot longer than from Crewe Audi to Crewe Seat! As well as the added risk of danger of being out on the roads and cycling on motorways and dangerous roads, we decided to rule this out due to safety and general impracticality. The only alternative was to complete the run on exercise bikes! This is where the idea really began to take off! First thing - bikes. Swansway have a strong connection with Bannatyne's Gym, so we were hopeful that something would be able to be worked out there. Then luckily Joe from Escalla (Hi Joe !) got in touch with another local gym and following this it seems that the question of bikes will be taken care of one way or another. We decided that my base, Crewe Audi would be a good base to complete the event. It is relatively central in terms of all our dealerships, and as we're located right next to head ffice we thought this to be a benefit as we would have the support from them too.
We began to plan the event, creating logos, planning ideas including cake stands, ice cream vans, display cars and competitions, and the event began to take shape and sound quite promising! We are all fully onboard for this concept and are looking forward to getting stuck in with it, hoping to actually run it early September time, while the weather holds out..
We each bring something to the team and are working well.. (so far.. early days yet!!) This part of the week was exciting and gave us all the chance to think outside of the box and try to come up with something that not only will be great for our projects, but raise a nice amount of money, too. I guess further planning will take place soon. In the meantime, I will be getting on with some photos and videos and getting busy with some social media posts. Upon returning from two weeks away my socials content has not been performing too well. Now I am back in the dealership I can get some good new car content and hopefully boost performance again.
Thanks for reading!

Hi Sophie,
ReplyDeleteThe event is going to be awesome! I have spoken with the Total Fitness team and they are happy to provide a bike for the fundraiser at Audi Crewe, I have explained that the date may change depending on the circumstances at the dealership, and they are fine with that also. Some social media posts around the event should help raise awareness of the event and hopefully boost some much needed funds for the charity.
When we have a date set for definite come back to me and I will make sure the equipment is available, some of the guys from the gym will also be attending, you never know there may be a few car sales to be had!
