Back in the dealership and back to reality! Although again, another short week, so can't really complain!

This week I have been quite busy, catching up with all the usual tasks. I have now completed writing the descriptions for all the YouTube videos that had been uploaded while I was away. There have been a lot of new cars that needed photos and videos taking so I have been busy with this also.

I saw Lorna for a catch up, as well as meeting David again. He provided me with a list of ideas for me to get stuck into when I have quiet periods. The one that I am planning to begin working on is creating a monthly e-newsletter. I was really excited by this suggestion, it will allow me to produce content as well as improve my web skills. David talked me through the steps that will be required, the first step is to come up with some potential content ideas, which I have began working on this week. After this is hopefully approved by John and the marketing team, I can create a data brief and move forward with creating the content in the 'Lavarel' system. At the minute, Swansway send out newsletters sporadically; but the intention is if mine goes well, it will become a monthly recurrence.

The view is to have 3 sections on each newsletter, referring to different areas of the business. Some ideas I have thought of so far:

  • Sales - finance offer, feature on A1's (market as the ideal first car) & offers, new available cars, feature on ex-demo's, etc.
  • Aftersales - parts offers (puddle lights, windscreen wipers),  spotlight on Crewe Audi's Ebay shop, aftersales offer - cam belt change + receive free MOTs for life, 'get your car ready for summer' feature on accessories such as bike racks & roof boxes & potentially some offers on these.
  • Random/feature - customer testimonial - motability customer, customer who's bought multiple cars from us, etc), upcoming Audi news/gossip - electric TT in design. Links to blog posts to drive reach,
I am waiting to speak to the General Sales Manager about potential offers, news that's going on etc, before I come up with anything concrete. The plan was to produce the first newsletter for June, but I am wondering now if that will be too much of a rush, so I will just see how it goes and go from there.

After asking for more work I now feel I have too much on! However I'm sure I can make it work and I'm looking forward to creating something that will hopefully have a bit of an impact and will feel worthwhile. Early next week I am planning to create a (long awaited) video on the e-tron. I am planning a walkaround tour of it, featuring Luke in the frame visually pointing things out, followed by some shots of the e-tron out on the roads, and maybe finishing with a short Q & A on common questions people have on the e-tron. I am looking forward to working on this and believe it will be a big task, but hopefully worth it for the result. I think it will be best done on 'imovie', although I am slightly sceptical of the quality when it will be stretched out on a PC screen. But I will try it and see, this will be the first bit of content but also the most difficult, so once this is out of the way the rest should be fairly easy to complete.

I have also just been tasked with some more jobs to do on AutoTrader. So looks like I will be fairly busy!

Have a good weekend. Sophie :)

  1. I had a quick chat with David and heard you had got a list! Can't wait to see your first video! See how it goes with iMovie. If it doesn't work you could use Movie Maker on your PC.
