Back to work..

Back in the dealership, the start of my week has been spent catching up on what I missed while I was out at training. March has been very busy, with lots of new cars and lots of handovers. We'd had a couple of big deliveries and the videos had been done, so I then went on to Youtube and optimised them; about 20 videos in total! This is a task I quite enjoy doing so I didn't mind too much. I also had a few new cars that had just arrived so I set about photographing these and uploading them.

Social Media update - With the 20th March marking the first official day of spring, I was thrilled to see a bright yellow TTS arrive into our stock - it fitted the brief perfectly! We even had a beautiful blue sky to go with it.

March 20th also marked International Happiness Day. With all the negative things going on in our society right now, I was really keen to try and do a nice post for this day. I had been planning to do a post on Chris, the Crewe Audi Meeter & Greeter, for a while; he is the first person our customers come into contact with and a great, friendly character. I decided the timing was perfect to finally get round to writing a bit about Chris. I asked him a couple of questions, took a few notes, then set about writing my post:

I was really happy with this post and writing content like this is definitely the aspect of my job I enjoy the most. I especially love writing about people and more emotive subjects - obviously in a car dealership there is little focus on thoughts and feelings; however I do believe that customers enjoy seeing posts about people; putting a face to the name, and showing that Crewe Audi is human and personable.

I have found that posting once a day is optimum for my social accounts, and, with both of these holidays falling on the same day, I had to post twice on one day. I knew this was not ideal; evidence suggests that multiple posts in the same day results in less interactions, when sent from an account that has a relatively small following. I did realise this at the time, but decided that neither post would work so well on a different day; so I decided to just go for it.  This probably resulted in fewer likes and interactions than there could have potentially been, but in this case there was nothing really I could do about it! I thought it was better to get two strong posts out rather than just one.

  1. Wow what a brightly coloured car! You wouldn't miss that driving past you! The yellow definitely says happiness and spring; it's the same colour as Mr Happy :-) It is really good to see you analysing your posts and what is working best for the business. This will be great in your report. It is also lovely to see that Chris allowed you to take his photo and write a piece about him. Customers do like finding out more about the people they will meet when they visit the business. Hopefully they won't see Chris as being scary now!
