It is now almost the end of my 4th week at Crewe Audi; time is going by fast! This week I was contacted by Colette, a member of the Marketing Team from over at Head Office. She is on a mission to boost Aftersales across the whole group, and so was planning a feature on Ryan, the Crewe Audi Aftersales Manager, and asked if I would like to help.
We interviewed Ryan, finding out more about his career, his thoughts on working for the company and much more. Colette gave me some tips prior to the interview; how to make your interviewee feel more at ease, what questions are best to ask, etc. After the interview it was then my job to take the photographs to accompany the piece. I took photos of Ryan at work, then proceeded to photograph his team and some of the technicians. Again Colette gave me some tips on how best to approach this as a lot of people are fairly uncomfortable with having their photo taken - especially when they are unprepared at work! However Colette assured me that photos are of the utmost importance in terms of engaging the audience, and to try and make sure everyone felt as comfortable as possible was crucial. Colette then advised me of some alternative ideas for posts, rather than just pure car images, she informed me of the importance of including people in my posts as oppose to just objects - although images of nice cars are attractive and gain lots of likes and reactions, it is people and moments that sell services/ bring customers back. It was a very useful session and I feel I learnt a lot and it gave me a few new ideas to work with.
Since then, I have been using my interview notes to write up my feature on Ryan. The article is going to be published on a number of different platforms; Facebook, LinkedIn and the Swansway Careers Page, and each of these platforms requires a slightly different tone as they are all slightly differing audiences. Again this is something I have really been enjoying doing as I love writing and creating content. I am hoping that writing articles and features like these is something I will be able to get
This week I am writing on Thursday as I am anticipating a busy day tomorrow! With the release of the new 19 plate registration, there is over 30 new car handovers lined up for Friday 1st March. The Managers are aiming to get photos of everyone picking up a new car over the weekend, so I think I will have my work cut out for me! The idea is to then post an album to the Facebook page and maybe some images to Instagram/ LinkedIn as well. I am planning to encourage customers to tag themselves and hopefully share the post, thus increasing reach levels quite significantly.
Thanks for reading!! When my article is (hopefully) published I will be sure to post it here!
I can't wait to see your article! I bet today is chaotic! All those new cars out on the road! I look forward to seeing you on Monday for a catch up :-)
