First week on the Job!

I have just completed my first week as a Digital Marketing Apprentice at Crewe Audi!
I was apprehensive to begin, but turned up on Monday morning ready for this new challenge.
After a brief meeting with the Head of Business and the branch Sales Manager, I was given a guided tour of the garage and met the people I will be working with. I was advised to shadow the site's 'Product Genius' in the beginning. Up to now he has been doing a lot of the social media posting, photography and videography, so it was beneficial to spend time with him and see how he does things.

With little guidance in my new role, so far it has largely been a case of finding my feet and learning the role responsibilities along the way. I have completed social media posts, trying to push certain cars, for example this week there has been a strong focus on selling new cars due to targets needing to be met by the month end. I have been using Crowd Control for social media postings on Facebook and Twitter, I find this a great platform as it allows you to prepare posts in advance, allowing them to appear at the weekend, for example, when a lot of people are off work, scrolling through Facebook, and this is the prime time for them to be coming into the dealership and potentially buying cars. I am aiming to post at least once a day with the view to eventually increase the dealerships online presence and thus ultimately attracting more customers and enabling more sales further down the line.

Towards the end of the week I was given more responsibility with regards to taking photographs of new and used cars, and this is something that I really enjoy doing. My Sales Manager has a keen eye for detail and puts a keen emphasis on more unique photographs that are interesting to look at; this is a brief that I am aiming to fulfill!

I have also been uploading videos to YouTube and from there uploading them to Autotrader. Aside from these tasks I have been looking into the analytics of my Social Media posts, seeing what gains the most positive response, then taking these findings and using the information and knowledge for future posts. I believe it is a case of finding what works, what our market wants, and applying these findings across future posts. In my spare time I have been working through my Google Digital Garage programme, looking through car stock and familiarising myself with the website, the brand and my responsibilities.

Moving forward, I am hoping to increase my responsibilities and increase my workload. The Swansway Marketing team have been really helpful and I feel supported by them and as though I am able to go to them with any questions I may have, which is important to me.

I have attached some photos that I have shot that are now appearing on AutoTrader and across Social Media.

  1. It sounds like an amazing first week! So glad to see that they have thrown you in at the deep end and you are obviously loving what you are doing. All these things you have written about will make fantastic evidence for your portfolio. I cannot wait to see what you get up to next :-)
